    Biblical Womanhood/Growing in Christ

    • Books by Elisabeth Elliot
Elisabeth Elliot is my mother in the faith and a spiritual mentor. I discovered her books in 2015 and the Lord knew I was in the perfect season to receive them. I have been blessed countless time with them since then. I could not recommend her books too strongly.

    Edifying Fiction

    • Books by Susan Warner
I love “old” books and these are no exception. Written in the middle 1800s, Miss Warner’s book encourages godly character and biblical living. The “Queechy” set is two of my all-time favorite books.
      • The Wide, Wide World
      • Queechy (1 & 2)
    • Books by Isabella Alden
My mom introduced Mrs. Alden’s books to me several years ago and since then I have read several and listened (LibriVox.org) to many more. My mom and I have thrown around the idea of creating a Bible curriculum for young ladies using books by Mrs. Alden because of their focus on Christian character and the daily application of biblical principles. The Ester Ried Series and From Different Standpoints are my favorites.
      • The Chautauqua Girls Series
      • Ester Ried Series
      • A New Graft On The Family Tree
      • Cunning Workman
      • Links in Rebecca's Life
      • From Different Standpoints
      • Interrupted
      • The Browns at Mount Hermon
      • Wanted
      • Household Puzzles
      • The Randolphs (squeal to Household Puzzles)

      • Mara
      • Making Fate
      • What They Couldn't
      • Pauline
      • Workers Together or An Endless Chain
      • These are just the books I have personally read, there are many more!
    • Mother (Kathleen Norris)
    • The Elsie Dinsmore Series (Martha Finley)
    • The Millie Keith Series (Martha Finley-I undoubtedly prefer the abridged version)

    Websites
Girl Defined is a wonderful encouragement to girls of all ages, but especially teenagers who are dealing with issues like identity, crushes, sexual struggles, accepting their bodies, etc.
Above Rubies is a magazine aimed particularly at mothers, but it is always encouraging for young ladies too. The Campbell's have a wonderful ministry for families.
Michael and Debi Pearl's ministry has influenced our family in so many ways. From their first book "To Train Up A Child" which impacted my parent's child training, to their bi-monthly magazine, Mrs. Pearl's wisdom for young women, this is a wonderful ministry and resource.
