The Lord Will Provide

The Lord Will Provide
                                                                            by John Newton

"Though troubles assail,
And dangers affright,
Though friends should all fail,
And foes all unite;
Yet one things secures us
Whatever betide,
The Scripture assures us
'The Lord will provide.'"

"The birds without barn
Or storehouse are fed;
From them let us learn
To trust for our bread.
His saints what is fitting
Shall ne'er be denied,
So long as 'tis written,
'The Lord will provide.'"

"His call we obey,
Like Abram of old,
Not knowing our way,
But faith makes us bold.
And though we are strangers,
We have a good guide,
And trust, in all dangers,
'The Lord will provide.'"

"We may like the ships
In tempests be toss'd
On perilous deeps,
But cannot be lost.
Though Satan enrages
The wind and the tide,
The promise engages--
'The Lord will provide.'"

"When Satan appears
To stop up our path,
And fills us with fears,
We triumph by faith;
He cannot take from us,
Though oft he has tried,
This heart-cheering promise,
'The Lord will provide.'"

He tells us we're weak,
Our hope is in vain,
The good that we seek
We ne'er shall obtain;
But when such suggestions
Our spirits have tried,
This answers all questions--
'The Lord will provide.'"

"No strength of our own
Or goodness we claim;
But since we have known
The Savior's great name,
In this, our strong tower,
For safety we hide;
The Lord is our power!
'The Lord will provide!'"

"When life sinks apace,
And death is in view,
This word of His grace
Shall comfort us through.
No fearing nor doubting,
With Christ on our side,
We hope to die shouting--
'The Lord will provide!'"

Family Life - November and December 2021

 November and December just moved right along and I thought of a family update quite a few times, but it just hasn't happened until now. Life doesn't slow down and especially around the holidays, things can seem to move faster until now, here we are, already in February! The Smith farm is thankful for this fact however. The faster winter moves along, the better it is. I am not a cold weather person in general, but when you have to work in it, winter really looses its enjoyment. =) But January has moved through and as my dad says, February is a short month.

Back to November and December.

As a gift from my family, I was blessed with a plane ticket to fly out to Kansas in November to
visit one of my best friends, Emily and her husband and little guy! I was able to
spend about 10 days out there drinking in the Kansas scenery, loving on Emily's
little boy, being apart of milo harvest, and of course, many many hours of
talking. =) It was a blessed trip and I am so grateful for it.

This was taken back in the fall, but I thought it was too cute not to post.
Here is Snoopy and Lady (or Ladybug).

We had 2 turkeys raised by some Mennonite friends of ours and when it was
time to kill, Dad went over and was able to learn and be apart of the process and
then brought them home for Mom and I to cut up and freeze. It was a great
learning experience and has made us feel much more confident with raising
and killing our own meat birds.

I was working at my "office are" aka the dining room table in the living room
and I had visitor come by to watch me.

Hope and I, armed with (healthy) hot chocolate working on Dad's Christmas gift.

The Smith Family Christmas 2021

Our Christmas celebration with my dad's family. Here I am with my
cousin Allie and her husband Grant. Cousin friendship is precious.

Christmas week we had the blessing of having our pastor's family up for
lunch, Christmas cookie decorating, and hot chocolate.
Above are all the girls...
And below are the men. =)

Christmas Eve, we went to visit with our great-grandmother.

Also that night, we were able to visit our WW2 veteran friend, Mr. Tarter.

Sibling friendship is amazing!

Emma and Stephen had an exciting announcement to make at Christmas!
Baby Seaford coming July 2022!!!

So entered 2022!
Happy New Year to you all!
