Family Life - September and October 2021

Hello all!

I got to the end of September and life was moving fast and I postponed a family update post until we were through October and Emma's wedding. One downside to that is that you have two months worth of pictures instead of just one and so this post is extra long so apologies in advance. =)

After giving blood for some lab work, I promptly passed out cold! After being revived and
making a long recovery in the lab chair, we went and got me some fruit sugars. Moral of the story,
make some better preparations before giving blood!

I was so happy to meet up with my friend Anna Marie for coffee while she was in town!
We have been friends since we were around 3-4 years old!

At the end of August, "Lady" wandered in.

Leah's 13th birthday!

Off to a bridal shower for Emma!

I wasn't well and stayed home from church and was thoroughly
encouraged and blessed by a message on Embassy Media by Dr. Stephen Olford.

Headed to another bridal shower!

All the sisters!

Stephen was in town the same weekend as the shower and was able to join us at the end to open gifts with Emma. Here we are praying over the couple.

Cleaning!

Wedding décor shopping!

We had a baby born a little early and he needed a little supplementing until
his mama's milk came in. Hope is such a faithful caretaker.

Hope and I worked on doing some alterations to our bridesmaid dresses.

I had a little farm accident when a metal fence post was accidentally
knocked over on me. Being the family we are, we did not rush off to the ER to
get stitches, but I was hurried home to get it washed, iced and essential oiled.
We packed the wound with People's Paste (a mixture of slippery elm, myrrh and goldenseal), or
God's stitches as I call it. It closes the wound from the inside, pushing any debris out, whereas regular stitches bind beginning from the outside and seal any debris in. We have used
this mixture again and again, with much more serious injuries, and have had amazing success
every single time. When my brother got his neck sliced open by a tree branch, we packed the
wound and he just has a hairline scar today. God is amazing!

Day 3...

Just a little over 2 weeks later!

"Freddy" was so small when he was born, he could walk right under his mama!

On October 9th, I flew to Florida for another week in prison!
The more I do this, the more I fall in love with it.

AmyGrace and I were teamed up this time! It had been almost 2 years since we
had done a seminar together and we had an amazing bonding time as we watched God
work in the women's hearts and in ours too!

Arriving home a week before the wedding, I jumped right into preparations.

On my birthday (the 20th), my family surprised me by having a belated
high school graduation! Although I graduated 3 years ago, we had never
had a time of celebration for mine or Caden's graduations. It was a beautiful
evening of laughter, some tears and it blessed me so much!

More wedding preparations!

Making out shopping lists.

Caffinating!

I have decided to make separate posts for all the wedding weekend pictures! September and October were wonderful months, very busy and there was good growth, but they were beautiful and God continues showing Himself so faithful to our family and the farm.

Follow On

"Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry."
Hebrews 10:35-37

May I still receive the soldier spirit, and when life takes the rocky paths, may I see that I am under the same Captain. My orders have not changed. My Captain says "Give up your rights to yourself, take up the cross, follow." He has been over the course before, Will I refuse to obey then?

"From prayer that asks that I may be
Sheltered from winds that beat on Thee,
From fearing when I should aspire,
From faltering when I should climb higher,
From silken self, O Captain, free
Thy soldier who would follow Thee.

From suble love of softening things,
From easy choices, weakenings,
(Not thus are spirits fortified,
Not this way went the Crucified,)
From all the dims Thy Calvary,
O Lamb of God, deliver me.

Give me the love that leads the way,
The faith that nothing can dismay
The hope no disappointments tire
The passion that will burn like fire,
Let me not sink to be a clod:
Make me Thy fuel, Flame of God. "

( Poem taken from "A Chance to Die" by E. Elliot)
